Meet Marcial

This is Marcial.  I'd like to share his story with you.  Marcial's story begins in  poverty in Honduras where in the best circumstances it is hard for a man to provide for his family.

As a young man, Marcial was very hard working and had great potential.  When he was sixteen he began living with fourteen year old Victoria and soon children began to fill their little adobe home.  Marcial had a drinking problem and he often abused Victoria and the children.

Marcial worked hard on the coffee plantation where he was employed and his boss bought a cab over truck and taught Marcial to drive it.  This was a wonderful opportunity for Marcial!  But there was another man who felt this promotion should have been his.  Late one night, with jealousy burning in his heart, this man sneaked to the truck and unlatched the catch that holds the cab in place.  The next day, while descending a steep grade, Marcial pushed on the brake, and the cab flopped forward.  In the crash that followed his back was broken and he was paralyzed below his waist.

That all happened a number of years ago.  In the meantime Marcial and Victoria have become Christians.  They have learned to forgive and move on.  Marcial still works hard to provide for Victoria and their seven children. But it is not easy.  He makes macrame plant hangers to sell.

For the last several years Keith has tried to market them here in the US for him.  We decided to set up an Etsy store to try to increase the number of sales.  So I did that yesterday.

If anyone is looking for a nice Mother's day gift or something you can see the plant hangers here.  There are single and double hangers in several lengths.
