Eleven Years Ago...

This boy entered our lives.

We got him the camos for his birthday.
When we looked at his tiny little 5 lbs. 5 oz. self there was no way we could see that he would be our funny, daring, outdoor loving child.  Or that he would be our athletic child, the one that is always standing on his head or doing cartwheels or climbing trees.

He bought a BB gun with money from grandparents
When he was a couple of days old, and still in the NICU, the doctor told us that he was worried that Freeland might have a chromosomal disorder.  They did a blood test and the 10 days we waited for the results seemed four times that long.  We cried, not knowing what was in our baby's future, but we knew it didn't really matter because we knew he was perfect in every way no matter what the test results were.  At last the results came back negative.

I feel so blessed to be your mother, Freeland!  Happy birthday, sweet boy, I love you more than you know!
