Poor baby.

My poor baby is sick.  As in had a temperature of 103+ sick.  Yesterday morning she had a little episode that was extremely frightening for me and my "mother's helper" who was here at the time.  I was rocking her and suddenly realized that she was very pale and a little blue around the mouth!  Her eyes did not focus and she was drooling.  It lasted a very short time but it was absolutely terrifying!  The Dr. thinks she probably had a brief febrile seizure.  And he assured me that it is not uncommon, but I had never experienced anything like it.

I really had a hard time putting Eliana to bed and going to sleep last night.  I had to remind myself that God kept her safe when I was not there to watch and worry and that He is still in control of her precious little life.

Thankfully today she is much better.  Today she just wants to be rocked.  And I don't mind that at all!  This is one mama who loves to rock her babies!  I am so thankful that Eliana likes to be rocked!  She is so amazing as she relaxes in my arms and calmly looks me directly in the eyes.  It is precious time with a very brave little girl!  I feel so privileged to be the one to teach her about a mother's unconditional love.

I am working on Eliana's scrapbook as I can.  The other day I was working at the page with photos of the day we met her.  She saw them and then wanted to be held.  She kept putting her head on my shoulder and saying "Mama" in such a sweet little voice.  Melt.my.heart.

  2. Glad to hear she is feeling better. I love to rock babies also. I still rock my 4 year old granddaughter. It is so good to hear how she has attached to you and your family. Glad you are there for her. Blessings

  3. Melts my heart reading about her! I hope she is over being sick, but never over laying her head on your shoulder for comfort. I do think that is the best feeling ever!
