Eleven years ago today I went to the OB/GYN I was seeing at the time. I was 32 weeks pregnant with our second child, a little girl (or so we had been told), and I was experiencing some disturbing symptoms. They did an ultra sound and we had a little conversation that went something like this:
Keith: We were told we are having a girl, can you confirm that?
Technician: You were told you are having a girl?
Me: Yes we were!
Technician: Oh my goodness! I'm not supposed to say anything, but...
Us: IT'S A BOY?!
Technician: I'm so sorry, but... I think you were mis-informed...
Us: It's a boy!! It's a boy!! We are going to have another boy!! Isn't that great?! That is so amazing!!
Technician: I'm glad you found out now while you still have a couple of months to prepare.
Little did she know that we would only have about 6 hours until we met our precious SON!!!
Stay tuned for the rest of that story tomorrow...

January 14, 2012:
One year ago today Keith and I woke up very early in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas. We had already told our children good-bye the evening before and we were headed to Shanghai to meet Eliana. There is no feeling that compares to that amazing feeling of actually beginning the journey meet your child.
We flew From Dallas to San Francisco then boarded the flight that would take us to China.
Here is our blog post from that day. Keith thought I was a bit presumptuous to state before the journey began that the most difficult part was over, but God was so gracious to us and this ended up being true!
