Answers { Learning to Live With Lupus }

Yesterday I had another appointment with my rhuematologist and it seems the pieces are all fitting together.  It is rather complex and I won't bore you with the details, but the upshot of the matter is that we are now starting long term treatment for Lupus.

It is a little overwhelming.  The medication I'm taking doesn't start to make a difference for several months, and it does not work for everyone, so we are starting it but continuing with the prednisone and pain medications that I have been on until we see when and if the new medication is going to help.  Along with this I am following a low inflammation diet to see if that helps to decrease symptoms.

The other things we talked about in the appointment is the importance of keeping stress levels low and not doing more than I can handle, which at this point is not much at all!

I feel like I have a lot to learn, but I'm thankful to have some answers and a plan for moving forward.  God has been so near to me through some very hard days and I know He will continue to carry me as move forward.

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.  Psalm 103:13
