For Casper

Hey Casper! (See I'm just calling you Casper since this isn't a very private space.)

Yesterday we went to a Lego store and let Eliana play with Legos for a little while. They had all of these amazing displays around the store and play area. I took these pictures just for you. I hope you have a very good day. Love you!

Oasis Chorale, The Beginning

We are here in Indiana right now. These are practice days for the chorale before hitting the road tomorrow. Eliana and I keep ourselves busy with listening, taking pictures and video, and (like right now) running out to the nearest McDonald's to use the wifi.

Reports from home sound good, so that makes me feel better about being away from the rest of the crew. Eliana is loving being the only child in a group of adults. Maybe it is good for her to have all of my attention for a couple of weeks!

For those of you asking, you can see the tour schedule here. Anyone is welcome to come to the concerts!

In Which Mrs. Martin {Suddenly} Goes To Canada

It has been planned for months, Keith leaves on Monday to go on a two week tour with Oasis Chorale. What hasn't been planned for months is that Eliana and I are now planning to accompany him. So now we suddenly leave on Monday too!

Kind friends agreed to allow the rest of our crew to stay at their house while we are gone. Thankfully the children are very, very excited about staying with friends. Annika was a little disappointed that we don't need to take them over on Sunday evening. She did assure me that she will secretly go outside and blow kisses my direction at night.

Eliana has her suitcase and passport out. Traveling is fun, but traveling somewhere that you need a passport?! That takes it to a whole different level if you ask Eliana!

Me? Oh I'm just making sure we all have clothes and a few things like that. And having small panic attacks as I think about traveling with and staying with people I don't know. Just little stuff like that.

I think I'll have wifi for at least some of the trip, but I really don't know. I refuse to be one of those guests, you know the type, "Hi. My name is Erin. Lovely to meet you! Thank you for your hospitality and what is your wifi password?" So I'll probably be updating as I go, but can't promise anything.

Anyway, as always, hang on for the ride! You never know where the next week will take you!

Taking The Plunge!

I've been busy working at something big recently. Or, at least, it seems big to me!

Several years ago I bought my first DSLR camera and was surprised by how much I love taking pictures! I have since taken thousands (and thousands and thousands) of photos. And I love doing it more all of the time.

So...

I'm taking the plunge and officially launching my photography website! Anyone local needing photos taken? I'd love to hear from you!

Check out my website Erin Martin Photography!

My Husband

Keith is planning to run in the NYC Marathon to help raise funds for Superkids Charity. He needed a photo to send in with his bio, so we ran out to a nearby bridge last night and had a fun little photo shoot.

A Visit to Honey Bear Orchard

Yesterday we went to Honey Bear Orchard to pick cherries. I don't think most of the kiddos have ever picked cherries and I decided it was high time they have the experience. They picked while I took photos and everyone was happy!

When we got to the orchard we saw that they also had pick your own black raspberries and decided we wanted to pick a few of those too. The berries were gorgeous and plentiful! It didn't take long to fill our containers.

On the way home we decided to grab some subs and have a picnic at this lovely overlook along the Appalachian Trail. The temperature was just perfect! We sat there looking over the valley eating freshly picked cherries thinking,

"God's in his heaven. All's right with the world!"
